Rytec Corporation is the nation’s leading manufacturer of high-performance doors for industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical and cold-storage environments. High speed doors are very useful for reducing energy consumption in conditioned buildings, especially those buildings with walk-in coolers and freezers.

Rytec needed an accurate way of predicting the energy that a customer would save by installing a high performance door. Rytec asked The Weidt Group to create a software application that their sales force could use to predict energy savings.

The Weidt Group created a comprehensive software energy model of each Rytec door, and also some “generic” door models. The software model accommodated Conditioned/Conditioned, Conditioned/Outside, and Conditioned/Buffer/Outside environments. The software model was then placed in an application that runs comparative analysis of different door models, showing first costs and return on investment. The software application automatically produces formatted reports of the energy analysis results for salespeople, channel partners, and customers.

It was very important to Rytec to have a technically accurate and credible predictive model of energy savings. The Weidt Group was uniquely qualified to create this software based on years of experience in energy building modeling, and deep software development experience.
