Pharmacia is a 176,000 sf chemistry lab on the Skokie, Illinois campus. The Weidt Group collaborated with Flad & Associates architects and engineers, providing computerized solar penetration and daylighting analysis, sustainable design recommendations and DOE-2 modeling of alternative strategies to conserve energy. A detailed analysis of alternative photovoltaic demonstration systems was conducted in collaboration with Great Northern Solar.

An innovative radial lens, solar optical product was also introduced in collaboration with 3M. The Weidt Group provided design consulting and analysis on this innovative daylighting system to even out daily and annual solar distribution in the atrium.
