LEED® -CI
This project is a relocation of MEEA's offices into 3,815 sf of an existing building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Completed in July 2006, the facility has achieved LEED-CI 2.0 Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, receiving a total of 24 points. The Weidt Group's work included support in the LEED decision-making process, input into the lighting and daylighting control systems, and fundamental commissioning. The Weidt Group completed and documented the LEED-CI Fundamental Commissioning Prerequisite, the Minimum Energy Performance Prerequisite, and Optimize Energy Performance Credits for Lighting Power and for Lighting Controls. The energy outcome for lighting, as shown by the lighting power density, is 29% better than the LEED baseline of ASHRAE 90.1-2004.
Key Strategies
- Occupancy sensor control of lighting in various spaces
- Direct/indirect lighting systems with T8 lamps
- Dimming daylighting control of lighting in open offices
